Patricia Paddock Obituary

Patricia Paddock

February 23, 1932 – October 22, 2024

Patricia "Pat" Paddock slipped away peacefully in her sleep on October 22nd, age 92.

Pat was born in Irlam, England, and emigrated along with her mother Florence, to the U.S. at the end of WWII, in 1946.

Settling in southern California. Pat attended secretarial school prior to marrying Robert Dryburgh (1951), and later Todd Paddock (1967), and raising four children.

Her passion was dancing and she was accomplished in all the ballroom styles as well as in-fashion dances like the West Coast Swing.

After retiring as a legal secretary with the University of California, Pat relocated to the Grass Valley area in the early 90's to be near family. She was active in the community with the Unitarian Universalist church, Hospice of the Foothills, Interfaith Food Ministry, Nevada County Pride, PFLAG, and Foothill Theater Company, to name a few.

Pat was preceded in death by husband Bob McCance and daughter Anne Hardy, and is survived by daughter Kathy Palmer, sons Steve Dryburgh and Brian Paddock, three grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

A sincere thanks to Sierra View Senior Living management and staff for the love and care afforded to Pat over the past 3 years. In memoriam, her family would be honored by your donation to Interfaith or Hospice.

Dear Steve,

I just happened to run across your mother's obituary today. My sincerest condolences to you and your sisters. As her former caregiver, I wanted to say a few words in praise of her. She was always down to earth and generous and therefore a pleasure to work with. I enjoyed being in her lovely home with the waterfall view and will always think of her fondly. I know you were a good son to her and always looking out for her best interests. Please know that I have sent good wishes her way for a peaceful transition to whatever adventure her Spirit is now experiencing.
