Sr. Diane Smith, OP

Diane and I shared the same first name, the same birth year and the same high school and Class of 1958 at Dominican Upper School in San Rafael, CA. Diane and I weren't close friends during our high school years due to the fact that Diane was a day student and I was a boarder so our social times together were limited. But I loved Diane for her sweet personality. She was always gentle in her speech and kind in her actions. She was a wonderful classmate and I look forward to seeing her again in heaven where I'm sure she is! (I just pray that I will make it there too!)
I send my prayers to Diane's grieving family. They will be with her again in heaven someday...and forever!
With loving thanks for this wonderful classmate, Sister Diane Smith, OP
(I joined the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, CA in 1959 after a year at San Jose State College, completing my education and graduating from Dominican University in San Rafael. The "OP" after my name stands for "Order of Preachers," the title for both Dominican men and women.)

Dear Grant and Family,
I am always sad for those who loose loved ones...for awhile. But we will all be together again in heaven and FOREVER! So please let this thought fill your hearts and be smiling with Diane who is always smiling on you now!
Diane and I were high school classmates at Dominican High School in San Rafael and interestingly enough, we have the same first name and birth year! I remember her so well because she was one of the nicest girls in our class--and we had a lot of girls because it was an all girls school, as you know. But she was always sweet and gentle and fun to be with anytime!
I know that Diane is rejoicing in heaven now and praying for all of you. I look forward to seeing her again after 66 years plus ... when I pray that I will be with her in heaven.
Many prayers for all of you!
