Barbara Jean Behrbaum – Jamison

May 1, 1938 – December 12, 2024

Barbara passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2024 at the age of 86 surrounded by her husband and daughters.

Barbara was born on May 1, 1938, the 2nd of 4 children, in Whittier, CA to Lucy and Wesley "Wes" Pendergraft. The family moved to Nevada County in the early 50's where Barbara met the 1st love of her life, Bill Behrbaum. Barbara and Bill married in 1954 and raised 4 daughters. After Bill's passing in 1994 Barbara travelled. She lived in Alaska for 2 years. After returning to Nevada City she met and married Brian Jamison in 2006. Barbara and Brian retired to Downieville, CA where they lived for 8 years. Barbara volunteered for the Downieville Fire Fighter's Auxiliary.

In 2015 they returned to Grass Valley where she pursued her passion for gardening. She was a forever homemaker and also loved volunteering, sewing, knitting, traveling, and spending time cooking for family gatherings.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her 2 sisters Peggy Giardina and Judy Andrews, her brother Dale "Butch" Pendergraft and her 1st husband, Bill.

She is survived by her husband, Brian, her daughters, Andrea (Scott) Wheeler, Dawn Black, Brenda "Susie" Herrill and Julie (Shawn) Vandervort, all from Grass Valley, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 6 great, great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be missed and remain in our hearts forever.

A private grave site service will be held.

Barbara was always a delight at our monthly luncheons for members of the 1956 nevada union high school graduate. We will miss her terribly.
