Rena’ Martin Obituary


BRYSON CITY - Rena' Huskey Martin, 51, known to everyone as Sissy, went home to be with her brother and family Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of Ham and Gail Lackey Huskey of Whittier.
She was a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church. Sissy was daddy's fishing buddy and a social butterfly. She was her mother's best friend. She loved her husband and boys with all her heart. Sissy loved her brother and Dusty very much. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents; brother; and family.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Larry Martin; sons, Dwayne and Tony; four grandchildren; brother, Shawn Huskey; sisters-in-law, Dusty and Ona Huskey; friends, Drew Burrell and Melissa; favorite niece, Brooke "Chicki" Lackey; and many more nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Pastor Mike Cogdill officiated. The family received friends from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday at the church. Burial followed in the Round Top Cemetery.
