Marilyn Brown Obituary

BRYSON CITY - Marilyn Ruth Rogers Brown, 92, danced away from her grieving family to a much-deserved rest Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025.
A Bryson City girl, Marilyn enjoyed her high school years being a majorette, twirling her baton. She received a secretarial degree from Shasta Community College in Redding, California.
She loved people. She cared. Marilyn kindly opened her home to several friends of her children and grandchildren when they needed a safe place to stay, to regroup and go on to build successful lives. Music played constantly, with anyone at any time, singing a song or doing a dance just for the joy of it.
Marilyn was a delightful and involved parent, singing and reading her children to sleep each night.
Marilyn will be sorely missed by her dear sister, Dale King; children, Chuck Einstein, Terrie Stanberry and Karin Anders; special nephews, Barry Rogers and Scot Rogers; dear friends of the family Robin Davis and the city cousins, the Breedlove Girls. Cherishing her memories are grandchildren, Jama Anders and Marilyn Abbegayle Kirby, with chosen grandson Walter Smith.
Marilyn now joins her parents Roe and Bea Rogers; brothers, Jack and Ned Rogers; nephew, Talmadge King; and waiting at the kitchen table is her delightfully crazy Aunt Maude Lee.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3 at Crawford / Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde. In lieu of flowers, go by your mom's today.
Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is deeply honored to be caring for the Brown family.
