Billy Lewis Obituary

BRYSON CITY - Billy Ray Lewis, 82, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. Billy was born Oct. 7, 1942, to the late Zachariah and Safronia Johnson Lewis in Bay Springs, Florida. He served his country during the Vietnam Conflict as a Private 1st Class from 1960 to 1964. After being honorably discharged he went on to become an electrician and also enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He also enjoyed working on cars, traveling and taking photos of nature.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Zuah Leaturnea; sons Timothy Ray Lewis and Anthony Nathaniel Lewis; and siblings, Gladden Lewis, Wayne Lewis, Ronnie Lewis, Troy Lewis, Melva Jean Attaway and Rachel Iris Holifield.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Martha) Lewis of Bryson City and Christopher (Veronica) Lewis of Sylva; daughter-in-law, Nikki Lewis of Georgia; grandchildren, Christopher Dyer, Clarissa Callaway, Jeffery Dyer, Michael Lewis Jr., Trevis Button, Kirsten Carroll, Hannah Lewis and Andrew Lewis; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A funeral service will be held in Pensacola, Florida. Dates and times will be announced when finalized.
