Lewis E. "Lou" Bertollini

Lewis E. "Lou" Bertollini, 98, of Baldwinsville, passed away Thursday, September 19th , just one month shy of his 99th birthday. He was employed with International Multifoods in Baldwinsville for 36 years retiring in 1983. Lou was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in the South Pacific on the islands of Saipan, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. He was a founding member of the Baldwinsville VFW Post 153, where his was affectionately known by, "Marine One". For over 30 years, Lou enjoyed camping and spending time with his family at Sandy Pond Campgrounds where he was unofficially referred to as the "mayor". He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Carole; daughter, Lorrie O'Neill; son, Kenneth Comins; grandson, Miles Comins; and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his children, Sherrie Grillo, Suzanne Esposito, Robert (Susan), Norman (JoAnn), Daryl (Connie), and David (Jean) Bertollini, Gail Comins, Cheryl (Scott) Yetter, and Colleen (Jack) Montague; sister, Nancy (Terry) Weston; son-in-law, Bernie O'Neill; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. Burial will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 27th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Baldwinsville American Legion Post 113, 8529 Smokey Hollow Rd., Baldwinsville.
