Johnson, Goodrich Lane Jr.
NEEDHAM, Mass. - Johnson, Goodrich Lane Jr., 93, of North Hill in Needham, Mass., formerly of Wellesley, Mass., passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025. Lane was born on December 15, 1931, in Albany, N.Y., to Ruth (Settle) and Goodrich Lane Johnson. Raised in Albany, N.Y., Lane graduated from The Albany Academy in 1949 and participated in Scouting, earning Eagle Scout honors. He attended St. Lawrence University, graduating in 1957. He was in the United States Navy from 1951-1954, and graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Business in 1959.
Lane was the beloved husband of Ann E. (Gumaer) Johnson, and devoted father to Elizabeth Tecca, and her husband, Paul, of Bristol, R.I., formerly of Wellesley, Martha Chaddock, and her husband, Robert, of Standish, Maine, and Laura Schneider, and her husband, Gregory, of Boxford, Mass. He was also the loving grandfather of Robert, Benjamin, Lucia, Amanda, and Nicole.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 79 Denton Rd., Wellesley, Mass., on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the church.
