Henry Rashap Obituary

Henry (Hank) Rashap, 86 years (1043 months old), died on Tuesday March 11, 2025. Born in Brooklyn NY on April 21, 1938 to the late Boaz and Edna Rashap. He is survived by his wife Maryann Rashap; sons Brian and Jeff Rashap, stepson Joe Hewitt and daughter Mary Romano; daughter in laws Krista Rashap, Jen Rashap, Kea Keolanui-Hewitt, son in law Jimmy Romano, grandchildren Shelby, Ethan, Tyler, Jake, Haley, Jimmy, Gabriella and Leo and nephews Mark and John Rashap. He was pre deceased by his brother Paul Rashap, sister in law Shirley Rashap and nephew Adam Rashap.
Hank served in the United States Air Force for 3 years and had such fond memories of that time. He will always be remembered for his funny but sometimes awful "Hank" jokes, incredible sense of humor, his love of watching baseball and beautiful women, and even his "IMHANK" license plate. Hank was a one of a kind person. His humor and kindness would light up a room within seconds. He was willing to talk to anybody and was always good for a laugh. He loved to travel, sit by his pool and do his crosswords and win at scratch-offs. Hank aka Poppy aka Grandpa Jelly Bean aka Pop Pop Hank loved his children and grandchildren so much and enjoyed hearing what they were doing which brought him so much joy in life. He will be dearly missed by many but will always be in our hearts.

I knew Hank through his brother Paul. Many times we would all go to theater in NYC or the Papermill. My sincere condolences to Mariann and family. Hank was a nice guy

Pop-pop Hank was my grandpa and a genuinely good person, he saw the best in people and brought family together. My condolences go out to all that are hurting in this time especially his kids and close relatives who were actively helping him through the following months. Hank always made us laugh and brought our family closer and his memory lives on with each and every one of us, with that I hope we can all continue to grow as people and live our lives in a way that would make him proud. Thank you for all the memories
