Our sweet Mom, our glue, our matriarch, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 10th. She had a long and amazing life. Born in Finland in 1932 and married Dad at the tender age of 18. She loved him unconditionally. She followed Dad to Canada with three little girls in tow. From Canada to California, where baby brother, Andy, was born. From there, on to Spokane in 1966, where the kids spent their formative years. Once the chicks flew the coop, back to Canada they went.
Mom was a beautiful woman, humble and kind, and accepted all our friends, spouses, and ex-spouses as family.
She was preceded in death by Dad, Seppo (Steve); son, Andy; grandson, Toby; granddaughter, Kiirsten; and son-in-law, Paul.
She is survived by her brother, Keijo, and her niece, Helena, in Finland; daughters, Eija, Anne, and Tuija; grandchildren, Graem, Lauren (Rob and Eloise), Chris (Becky), Kaelja, niece, Liisa (Terry) and nephew, Jukka (Julie). Special thanks and hugs to cousin (nephew) Mike and his partner, Janette, in Canada.
Also survived by ex-sons-in-law, Scott, Michael, and Dick.
A private celebration for family and dear friends will be held at a later date.
We love you Mom.
