Don was born on January 23, 1931, to Paul and Alma Berger. He graduated from Deer Park High School in 1948 and served in the Navy during the Korean conflict.
On August 6, 1952, Don married LaVerna Stach. Together they built a life and raised four children. Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, LaVerna, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.
He is survived by his children: Debbie Bacon; Brian (Nancy) Berger; Terry Berger; and Brent (Cheryl) Berger. He is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and 4 cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 28 at 12:30 p.m. at Open Door Church. Family and friends are invited to gather afterward at Divots at 2:00 p.m.
