WAPAKONETA — Kenneth L. Koger, 91, of rural Wapakoneta, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at his residence.
He was born in Alpine, Tennessee, on Aug. 16, 1926, the son of the late Joe and Nova (Garrett) Koger. He is also preceded in death by a son, Michael Kenneth Koger in 1960, three brothers and two sisters.
On Feb. 8, 1952, in Lakeview, Ohio, he married the former Wavelene G. (Klopfenstein) Koger and she survives in Wapakoneta.
He is also survived by a daughter, June Walker and domestic partner, Ken Rosendale, of Aurora, Colorado; a son, Todd W. (Mark Hurtt) Koger, of Columbus; two grandchildren, Tony Laremore, of Aurora, Colorado, and Onni (Kurt) Heberlein, of Bailey, Colorado; and numerous niece and nephews.
Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He worked as a farmer and also worked at Roettger Hardwood, a cabinet maker for Airstream Incorporated. He was a member of the Kettlersville Immanuel United Church of Christ and enjoyed fishing, horseshoes, and playing Euchre.
Pastor Ed Rinehart will officiate a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike St., Jackson Center. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Loramie Valley Cemetery, Botkins, with military honors.
