Gail Birchell Obituary

WAKEFIELD, RI - Gail E. Birchell, 82, of Wakefield passed away on January 31, 2025. Born in Boston, MA on April 29, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Anna (Phinney) Brisson. Gail worked as am Emergency Room Secretary at Sout County Hospital for thirty-flour years before retiring in 2004. Gail was an active member of the Peace Dale Congregational Church. She enjoyed rugmaking, quilting, stained glass, spinning yarn, knitting, and basket making.

She leaves behind her sons, Scott A. Dowd and Wayne K. Dowd; her companion, Robert Greene; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter, Lori A. Brown and sisters, Ann Caswell and Susan Berry.

A Visitation will be held on

Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 2 pm to 4 pm, in Avery Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield, RI. Burial will be private.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in the Spring.
