Katheryne Margaret "Peggy" Erigero

Called home to God in Heaven, peacefully passed away with her family at her bedside in her family home. She was 100 years old.
Born in the Cottage Hospital in San Rafael, Ca., which was owned and operated by her parents, her Mom, Elsie (Simmons) Dias, who was a Registered Nurse, and her Dad, Joseph Anthony Dias.
Peggy graduated from Dominican University in San Rafael, Ca., and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Following graduation, Peggy worked until she met and married the love of her life, Ed Erigero. Married at Mission San Rafael Arcángel on January 28, 1950, in the year 2000, in celebration of their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Ed & Peggy returned to Mission San Rafael Arcángel to renew their wedding vows.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Ed (2010) and their youngest son, Anthony (2013). She is survived by her three children, Mark A. Erigero, Jocelyn M. Erigero and Katheryne (Kathy) M. Erigero. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Anthony S. Erigero and Veronica K. (Erigero) Barde, and one great grandchild, Cameron Anthony Barde.
Peggy was a devoted, always loving and loved, daughter, wife and Mom. Peggy was also grateful to share love and support with all of her family members and many friends.
Peggy had a lifelong affinity and respect for animals and nature. An athlete and sports enthusiast, Peggy played a variety of sports and was a fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. Peggy loved music and played both clarinet and piano.
Peggy volunteered at her children's Schools and for many organizations including for Saint Anne's Church as President of the Holy Rosary Sodality and for Saint Cecilia's Church as a Eucharistic Minister, a Lector and a member of and Sunshine Chairman for the League of the Sacred Heart.
Peggy volunteered at the San Francisco Zoo for over 20 years and was a member of the Forest Hill Garden Club. Peggy cherished her membership in "The Riordan Gals." Peggy also supported a multitude of charities.
A beautiful, good, soul, who was always engaged in living a faith-filled life, Peggy was an optimist, and had a positive, "Attitude of Gratitude." Her life and legacy will be an enduring source of inspiration and she truly made our world better and brighter.
The Holy Rosary and Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Saint Cecilia's Church 2555 – Seventeenth Avenue San Francisco, CA followed by private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy's memory can be made to your chosen charitable organization.

For Kathy, Jocelyn and Mark

I am so sorry to hear about Peggy´s passing. Living 100 years is quite an achievement.

I had written about several of my memories of Peggy on this format, and it keeps getting erased. This has happened about four times now. I´m not sure why this is happening, so l will write a letter to convey my memories of her. I am sorry l am unable to record them here.
