It is with a heavy heart we have arrived at the end of life for Dr. Jack C. Avalos. The pulmonary fibrosis finally took its toll and Dr. Avalos, 82, formerly of Davenport, passed away at his home in Minnetonka, MN, with his family by his side.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory, Davenport, IA. The family will greet friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Tuesday, at the mortuary. Cremation will follow the services with his ashes being interred in the National Cemetery Rock Island, IL. In lieu of flowers please make donations in his name to your local hospice program. Please share condolences with the family at www.rungemortuary.com .
Dr. Avalos was born January 30, 1943, in Albany, CA to Jack S. & Marie (Hernandez) Avalos. He was united in marriage to Sheila Hartman on November 21, 1964, in Reno, NV. Jack served in the US Air Force from 1961-65 and then the US Navy from 1975 to 1991 when he retired from the Navy. He then worked as a radiologist in the Quad Cities, Clinton, and locums in multiple states for many years until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila; 3 children, Joy & John Avalos and Kym Zehnacker; & 7 grandchildren.

Sorry to hear of the death of Dr. Jack Avalos. I worked with him for several years in Clinton Iowa when he was working at the clinic.One of the nicest guys I´ve ever worked under , , always there for you when you needed advice on an exam. Great guy.
