Beverly Pacheco Obituary

Beverly Jeanne Pacheco
November 26, 1935 - January 30, 2025
Beverly Jeanne Pacheco was sweet, kind and empathetic, concerned about the wellbeing of others, even in her time of need. Her sense of humor was delightful with a contagious laugh as she unabashedly shared her joy. Able to turn a cloudy day into sunshine, Beverly exuded gratitude and happiness. Her favorite kind of people were kind people. She was authentically Beverly a shining light.
She was born in Humboldt County to proud parents Mary and William Pacheco, and big brother, Stanley. Originally from Sonoma County, the family returned in the late 1930s, where Beverly lived the rest of her life. A typical country kid, she raised rabbits, participated in 4-H Club work, and rode bicycles and horses. She attended Piner Elementary through the fifth grade when her schooling was ended by school authorities because of her learning disabilities. Even so, she lived a rich and full life, surrounded by her loving and supportive family and friends.
After her mother passed away, brother Stanley and sister-in-law, Jean stepped up in loving, life changing ways, securing board and care living where Beverly continued to thrive. By day, she attended growth opportunity programs, proudly sharing her work experience accomplishments, also improving her math and reading skills. Beverly's life essentially came full circle with her returning to "school" this time welcomed, encouraged and supported. While there, she also participated in talent shows, performing Doris Day's Que Sera Sera and John Denver's Country Roads which became her signature tunes, often spontaneously sung. Post pandemic, her favorite place to be was the M3 Day Program, enjoying activities such as Bingo. Winning a bingo was good. Winning blackout was equivalent to an Olympic gold medal. Beverly was a competitor, winning often and when she didn't, she would say (in good fun) - someone must have cheated.
She loved chocolate milkshakes and cheese enchiladas - pronounced enchiladeeeeees; the Golden Girls - often imitating Estelle Getty saying picture it, Sicily, 1922; Bonanza - especially Little Joe Cartwright; going to the movies mixing M&Ms with her popcorn; and attending the Sonoma County Fair. Her enthusiasm for life never waned, always looking forward to coffee day, bingo day, movie day, her birthday, and holidays, especially Easter with the prospect of See's candies. Sadly, Beverly passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2025.
She was predeceased by her parents William Delbert and Mary Jane Pacheco (nee Geer), and her brother Stanley Mervin and sister-in-law Jean Pacheco. She will be missed by her extended family including her loving house mates and care providers at the Redwood Vista Residential Care Home in Windsor; her dedicated support team at North Bay Regional Center; and the staff and friends at the M3 Day Program in Santa Rosa. Beverly is also survived by her extended family Mike Faaborg and family; her grade school and lifelong friends Naomi Lindsey and Ann Rathjen; and friend and bingo partner, Joan Fleck.
Thanks to the medical professionals at Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health - Care at Home, and Angelica Martinez and her staff at Redwood Vista for giving Beverly the utmost care and a loving and peaceful transition.
Beverly's life will be celebrated on February 18, 2025 at noon, at the Santa Rosa Memorial Park chapel. Burial will follow, weather permitting. Donations may be made to your favorite charity in Beverly's memory, honoring a meaningful life well lived.

I grew up with Beverly and her mother Mary being at all our family gatherings. They were always considered part of our family and were wonderful people. Beverly continued celebrating holidays and family occasions with us after her mother passed and we enjoyed her company. She was such a special person and such a pleasure to know. My memories of Beverly always included her big smile and giggles. She always brought joy wherever she was. Such a precious human being and I am glad I knew her.

Beverly shared group home with sister, Terry. What a sweet lady & friend she was to Terry. We always enjoyed Beverly. She will be missed in her home and at M3.
