Manuel Arndt Obituary
Mr. Metz was an economist, working for the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington D.C. for many years before retiring.
A skilled and avid chess player, Manuel also enjoyed photography, woodworking, painting and playing tennis, but especially enjoyed time spent with his family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Ricardo Metz and his wife Jacqueline Scott of Northampton, MA, Guillermo Metz of Ithaca, NY and Tamara Metz and her husband Samuel Connolly of Providence; one brother, Gustavo Metz Arndt and his wife Beatrice of Santiago, Chile; and six grandchildren, Sam, Mia, Aidan and June Metz and Sebastian and Rachel Connolly.

Manuel was a member of the CHESS CLUB @ Rogers Free Library in Bristol, R.I..
An amazing man and a advanced CHESS player especially for his age !
We had some great matches together.....Manuel got the better of me several times !!
I am now retired in Florida,and teaching CHESS at a elementary School
I would like to send my condolences to his Family, RIP

Our deepest sympathy is with you at this time. Manuel was such a gentleman and we can't thank you enough for sharing him with us in the last years of his life. Please accept our condolences on behalf of everyone at Briarcliffe. Manuel is missed by all who knew and cared for him.
