ARTHUR LONERGAN Obituary

LONERGAN--Arthur Lewis Jr., also known as "Lonnie," passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at his home in Randolph, NJ. He is the son of Arthur and Rita Lonergan and loving husband of Jean Lonergan. He is survived by his loving wife Jean; his three sons Kevin, Sam and Patrick and their respective wives, Jill, Amanda and Deborah; his five grandchildren; and his three siblings, Ann "Lilybets" McCarroll, of San Diego, CA, Jim Lonergan, of St. Augustine, FL, and Dr. Michael Lonergan, of Southampton, NY. Lonnie served in the US Army from 1961 until 1963 and went on to work for ConEdison in Manhattan for 41 years, retiring as the Director of Administration of its Law Department in 2005. He also served as an active member of the Association of Legal Administrators. Upon retirement Lonnie continued to pursue his passions of spending time with his grandchildren, travelling abroad with his wife, tending to his robust vegetable garden, and fishing eastern Long Island. He also was an active volunteer for the Catholic church and delivered meals to the needy through the Meals on Wheels program. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Visitation will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph, NJ (Tuttlefh.com). A Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection Parish in Randolph, NJ Friday, June 7, 2024 at 10:30am, followed by Interment at Holy Rood Cemetery in Morristown, NJ.
