Marlene Janet Hawkins, Hammond, Dyer, Highland, Residences at Deer Creek, Schererville.
Marlene Janet Hawkins (nee Sheets) age 91, passed away peacefully on March 16th, reuniting in heaven with her beloved husband, Raymond A. Hawkins, parents, Milton A. Sheets and Maude Phillips Sheets, siblings, Milton A. Sheets Jr., James Sheets, Ruth Bronas, Robert Sheets, Michael Sheets, Lucille
Winchell, Lillian Bracamontes and many cherished friends. Proudly born the youngest of 8 children, Marlene outlived her siblings lives by many years. She was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother (affectionally known as GG), and friend who deeply valued her relationships. Despite many health challenges, diminished eyesight, and limited mobility in recent years, Marlene remained steadfast and resilient, facing those challenges with unwavering optimism and without complaint.
Marlene is survived by her loving son, Michael R. Hawkins, Sr (Debbie Hines); grandson, Michael R. Hawkins Jr. (Caitlyn Kotul Hawkins); great-grandchildren, Michael (Mikey) R. Hawkins III, and Riley Clara Hawkins; and her nephew, Richard A. (Rhae) Bronas.
Friends and family are warmly invited to visitation at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, Indiana on Friday, March 21st, 4-8pm. A funeral Mass celebrating Marlene's life will be held
Saturday, March 22nd, 10:30am at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 9140 Kennedy Ave., Highland, Indiana with Rev. Gregory Bim-Merle officiating. Burial will follow at St. John/St. Joseph Cemetery Hammond, IN.
