Susan married her beloved husband, Edward Arthur Conroy, on July 20, 1963. They settled in Carpentersville, Illinois, where she worked at Blarney's and Kirlin's Hallmark in Spring Hill Mall, and later bartended at State Street Pub in Marengo. She loved traveling with her grandchildren, vacationing in South Dakota and Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and taking trips to Fifty Lakes, Minnesota early in life. Later years saw her and Ed traveling together to Galena and Dubuque frequently. She was an artistic soul, talented in arts and crafts, knitting, and crocheting, which produced countless blankets over the years. She also loved cooking and baking, with her cinnamon cakes being a holiday favorite that brought joy to many.
A woman of strong will and devotion to her family, Sue was known for her lively spirit. Ed and she celebrated 62 years of marriage, sharing many cherished moments dining out, with favorites including Floyd's in Carpentersville and Heritage House in Harvard.
