Patricia J. (Ott) Bour
Born: November 9, 1937
Died: February 10, 2026
Patricia J. (Ott) Bour, a lively and adventurous soul, passed away on February 10, 2026, at the Riverside Senior Life Center in Kankakee, IL. Born on November 9, 1937 in Chicago, Patricia lived a remarkably full life characterized by her motto, taken from Proverbs 18:24: "To have a friend, you need to be a friend".
A dedicated professional, Patricia spent her career as a bookkeeper and secretary. Outside of work, she was deeply involved in her community, volunteering as a greeter and guide at McHenry Hospital, working at a charitable resale shop, and active member of her church, Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley, IL. She was also an active supporter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and a member of the Red Hat Society.
Patricia had a passion for life that took her across the globe. Alongside her late husband, Edward Bour, she spent nearly 30 years as a "snowbird" in Naples, Florida, where she continued to build lifelong friendships at Hitching Post Park. Her travels spanned the U.S. and the world, including trips to the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Greece, Europe, China, Russia, and Ireland, where she famously kissed the Blarney Stone. Always up for excitement, she even went zip-lining and parasailing in her 70s.
Closer to home, Patricia cherished her family above all else. She was a fixture in her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's lives, attending activities and award ceremonies, sporting events and games, marching band exhibitions, graduations, weddings, and baptisms – keeping mementos of every special event. Her hobbies included gardening, shopping, fitness, and playing in various card and games clubs.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Charles Ott and Lydia (Schwarz) Ott; her brother, Charles "Buddy" Ott; and her husband, Edward Bour.
She is survived by her children, James Page of McHenry, IL, Susan (Scott) Rosen of Minocqua, WI, and Bruce (Beth) Page of Bourbonnais, IL; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held on March 14, 2026 at DeFiore Funeral & Cremation Service in Huntley, IL from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with service to follow.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you and the deepest gratitude to the staff at Riverside Senior Life Assisted Living and Uplifted Hospice Care for their exceptionally kind and professional care of Patricia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Uplifted Hospice Care of Kankakee County and/or Riverside Senior Life Community in Kankakee.
