Arnold L. Shepard, age 83 of Frankton, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born January 30, 1942 in Atlanta, Indiana to Vernon and Mary (Crull) Shepard. Arnold was a 1961 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School. He married Diana Jack on April 27, 1968, and they spent over 57 happy years together. Arnold worked as an engineer at Airfoil Textron for 25 years, then at Sermatech-Aero Forge until he retired. He loved working with his hands and spent countless hours in his woodshop. Arnold could fix just about anything and enjoyed repairing old clocks. Most of all, he cherished time with his family.
Arnold is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Diana Shepard of Frankton; 4 children, Greg Shepard of Frankton, Jennifer Greene of Frankton, Jeremy (Abbie) Shepard of Elwood, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Shepard of Greenfield; brother, Charles “Chuck” Shepard of Elwood; brother-in-law, Phil (Barbara) Rinker; sister-in-law, Jone Jack; 5 grandchildren, Ava, Macie, Chloe, Carter, and Delanie; special cousin, Barbara Baker; and several nieces and nephews. Arnold is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Rosetta Shepard; and 9 siblings, Dwight Shepard, Harold Shepard, Rolland Shepard, Thomas Shepard, Mary Irene McClure, Roberta Roe, Carolyn Coffey, and David Shepard.
A funeral service celebrating Arnold's life will take place at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Burial will follow the service. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harmony House Mission. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at copherfeslermay.com.

Uncle Arnie it seems like yesterday when you would come to visit us sometimes if my memory serves me correctly in your uniform. You would always "steal" my nose.you were always a good man and you will be greatly missed.
