Anna Marie Jenne, of Marengo, passed away February 3, 2026, on her 96th birthday.
Anna was born February 3, 1930, in Junction City, Kansas to Wanda Irby of Champaign, IL. Her father was a POW in WW2 and received a purple heart for his bravery, service and ultimately his death in protecting our country.
Anna moved to Marengo, where she was married to Dale Jenne. Together they had two children, Richard and Beverly.
She spent her career as a Special Education teacher. Anna was an avid reader, particularly of mystery novels. She also loved traveling to California to see her family.
Anna is survived by her granddaughter, Alison Bolick and her great-granddaughter, Quinn Bolick. She was preceded in death by her children, Richard Jenne and Beverly Cronnelly; her former husband, Dale Jenne; and her parents.
A few words of tribute from Anna's granddaughter, Alison - "Thank you for being my Grandma, for all the days we watched the Golden Girls together and I got to hear you laugh. Thank you for being dedicated to your craft for so many years as a special education teacher. For driving across the country each summer with me from Illinois to California, for endless board games of Monopoly and Dominoes. For being the person I could talk to, anytime. You made it 95 long years, and you have impeccable timing to pass away on your birthday of all days! You survived COVID 4 times, mom and I used to joke you had 100 lives! You loved to read your mystery novels almost as much as you liked to 'rest your eyes'. Thanks for being my Grandma, I love you, rest easy."
In honor of Anna's wishes, there will be no services.
