Ercy Stottlemyer Obituary

Ercy "Tex" T. Stottlemyer Sr. "89" passed away on Sunday August 25, 2024 in his home in Myersville surrounded by his loving wife , family and friends.

Ercy was Born Dec. 18, 1934 to the late Albert and Lillian Mellott in Myersville. He attended Middletown High School through 11th grade. He started pulling wrenches at a early age at Renn Pontiac and Jacks Exxon. He was the owner of T+T Service Center on 520 W. South Street, B.P, Gas. Then moved to 499 W. Patrick Street Mobil Gas working along side with his son Thad. He enjoyed solving mechanical problems for people but most of all he loved his customers. " There was nothing he wouldn't do to help". Tex enjoyed his hunting trip to W.Va. and most of all Idaho with special friends Earl, Jamie and Eric. Tex loved playing Blue Grass Country Gospel Music at Church and many Nursing Homes. He is survived by his loving wife of 50yrs, Linda, one son Ercy T. Stottlemyer Jr "Thad", and one daughter Diane Viner, Grandchildren Jennifer, Tara and Derick, Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Survived by one sister Mary Susan Arvin. Proceeded in death by four brothers Gordon, Roy, Marvin and Vernon Stottlemyer and one son. Special thanks to Dr. Bonham, Dr. Sachs, Dr. Khan, Meritus Health Hospital and Frederick Hospice and Caregiver "niece" Tammy. Tex was a member of Grossnickle Church of the Brethren and Frederick Church of God of Prophecy Bartonville Rd. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sept. 28th at 1pm at the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren on Meeting House Rd in Myersville. Ercy "Tex" Stottlemyer Sr.

Linda and Family, I share with you the memories of Tex. I knew him while was in High School along with you Linda. He was a great person and we became good friends and I always had my vehicle serviced at his garage(s). He will surely be missed and I know his memory will live on.
