Jack McNeish Obituary

Dr. Jack Roy McNeish, 92, of New Bedford, MA,, formerly of Nokomis, FL, and Hamden, CT, passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Paula Robertson McNeish, in 2016, and his son, Scott Douglas McNeish, in 2017. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and James Cammarata; his grandchildren, Allison, Constance (husband Moustafa), and Haley; and his great-grandchildren, Zaid and Faris.
Born on July 11, 1932, Jack was raised on a farm in Kanawha, Iowa. A gifted athlete, he achieved statewide recognition when his home run for secured the Iowa Baseball State Championship in 1948. After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1957, Jack served as a Captain in the U.S. Army as a Dental Officer, where he met his wife, Paula. He went on to practice Pediatric Dentistry in Hamden, CT, where he and Paula raised their family.
Jack was a talented sailor. He enjoyed racing sailboats with the New Haven Yacht Club, where he served as Commodore, and ice boating with the Connecticut Ice Yacht Club. In his later years, he enjoyed cruising with friends from the Venice Yacht Club.
At Jack's request, no formal services will be held.

I am sorry to hear about Dr. McNeish´s passing. I worked for him years ago and he was a tremendous dentist to his little patients. He is remembered as a gracious and kind man. ,

The world has lost a wonderful man. Dr McNeish was my children´s Dentist. He always let me stay with the kids when he did their fillings. I was amazed by his big beautiful
Hands were able to work in their tiny mouths. It was because of him I went into Dentistry as an assistant .
RIP Dr. My deepest condolences to the Family.

Dr McNeish was my dentist- he was the nicest man ever! I was never afraid to go to the dentist when he was my doctor...then I turned 18, devastated that I needed a new doctor. A dental visit has never been the same - so very sorry for your loss-

Wow, I totally remember him from his pediatric practice in Hamden at the medical buildings off of Washington Ave. Saw him until I graduated college in 1991 when it was time to move onto an adult Dentist :) My condolences to his family.
