Richard Reynolds Obituary

Richard (Dick) Lawrence Reynolds passed away peacefully on Jan. 21, 2025, at the Pioneer Home in Palmer, Alaska.

He was born June 1, 1944, in Superior, Wisconsin, to Lester and Etta (Argetsinger) Reynolds. He joined the Army at 19 and was stationed at Fort Wainright in Fairbanks. He re-enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Fort Richardson in Anchorage. After leaving the Army he lived in Anchorage before moving to Fairbanks. He built his family with his wife, Judith (Ellifritz), and had three children: Shawn, Tawny and Kristopher. He worked for the Alaska State Troopers. He was an original employee of Fred Meyer and retired from the State of Alaska as a weigh station operator.

He had many hobbies throughout his life. He was a sprint racer for sled dogs. He was an avid photographer. He was an amateur ham radio operator. He loved talking to other truck drivers as the PR - Poor Richard. He participated in country line dancing and square dancing. He liked to ski cross-country, played softball and golfed as he got older. He could play the harmonica and liked to sing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Etta Reynolds; his siblings, Harvey and Faye Reynolds; and his wives, Judith Reynolds and Melody Reynolds.

He is survived by his children, Shawn (Kim) Reynolds, Tawny (Richard) Redman and Kris (Megan) Reynolds; his niece, Laura, and nephew, Eric; his grandchildren, Alexandria, Madison, Harleigh, Johnny, Jonah, Annaliesse and Jossalynn; and his great-grandson, Jaxton.
