Richard Fehn Obituary

Richard Joseph Fehn, age 81 of Otsego, MN, passed away on January 6, 2026 at his residence.

Rich was born and raised in Fletcher, he was deeply proud of his roots and of having lived his life on the Fehn family farm, a place that shaped his strong work ethic and values.

Richard graduated from St. Michael High School in St. Michael, MN in 1962. Shortly thereafter, he answered the call to serve his country, serving honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. His service was a source of quiet pride that reflected his lifelong sense of duty and commitment.

Following his military service, Richard built an impressive career as an iron worker, dedicating more than 40 years to the trade. His skilled hands helped shape some of Minnesota's most recognizable landmarks, including the Target Center, IDS Center, Mall of America, and the Grand Casino Arena. He took great pride in his work and would point out buildings he had worked in the past.

On July 8, 1972, Richard married the love of his life, Judith (née Borman). Together they shared a life grounded in family and hard work. Richard was especially devoted to his role as a father and was proudly known as a wonderful "girl dad" to his daughters, Sarah and Natalie. He also loved attending barrel racing events to watch his daughter compete.

Richard found peace and happiness spending time at the family cabin on Wood Lake, often in the company of his beloved dog. He also enjoyed relaxing at home while watching Minnesota sports, loyally supporting his favorite teams through every season.

Richard is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters, Sarah (Tommy) Kreuter and Natalie (Aaron) Moen; grandsons, Ben Kreuter and Dane Moen; brother, Robert (Cheryl) Fehn; sisters, Dolores Robeck, Judy Weber, Carol Ann (Gary Miranda) DeMars and Cecelia (Russ) Haagensen; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Marian (Beaudry) Fehn; brothers, Norman, Jerome, Gordy, Dennis and Kenny Fehn.

Visitation for Rich held Monday, January 12, 2026 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and continued one hour prior to Mass at Mary Queen of Peace (St. Martin Campus) in Rogers, MN. Mass of Christian Burial held Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Mary Queen of Peace (St. Martin Campus) in Rogers, MN with Father Mark Pavlik and Father Jerome Fehn as Concelebrants. Luncheon at the church following the service.

Casket bearers were David Fehn, Danny Fehn, Gary Fehn, Eric Haagensen, Dwayne Robeck and Peter Borman.

Interment will be at a later date in the St. Walburga Cemetery in Fletcher, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family and they will donate them in Rich's memory.

Arrangements were entrusted to The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael, MN.
