Harold Wayne Hutton, age 82, of Clarence, MO, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Clarence Care Center in Clarence, MO.
Wayne (and twin sister, Ruth) were born January 20, 1942, inafarm house west ofShelbyville, MO the son of Harold Hasten and Lorraine Ila (Erdwins) Hutton. He attended Clarence High School graduating in1960, went on to Kirksville State Teachers College getting his degree in VocAg and Biology in 1964. He enlisted in the Army as Military Police for 6 years. He farmed corn and beans on his families land and raised pigs for the majority of his life. He was united in marriage to Betty Carlyle on January 19, 1994 at their home in Clarence, MO, which was one of the happiest days of his life. She survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Audrea Anderson and her husband, Gary of Alta Loma, CA; two granddaughters, Paige Smith (Kendle) of Shelbyville, MO and Megan Carlyle of Fargo, ND (Zach Spilker), two great granddaughters, Avery and Vada and another due in November; one sister, Barbara Chittum of Columbia, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; step son, Troy Carlyle; and two sisters, Joan Taylor and Ruth Wood.
Wayne and Betty were one of the founding members of the International Harvester Missouri Chapter 1 in 1992 and attended many shows throughout various states along with their fellow IH enthusiasts. They made many lasting friends over the years and their extensive collection was admired by many. Wayne loved showing off his collection and enjoyed getting a phone call or someone dropping by that wanted to come for a tour so he could share his wealth of knowledge about his tractors and all things IH. In the fall of 2022 they made the hard decision to sell the tractors and Cub Cadets, but maintain the memorabilia.
After Wayne retired he enjoyed buying and restoring sleigh bells to their natural beauty then had them secured on to a leather strap. He restored hundreds and hundreds of bells and has over 100 completed straps, which his family will enjoy for years to come.
Wayne had many dogs while farming, but he loved his orange tabby cat, Sam, who showed up one day in 2013 as a small malnutrition, flea ridden kitten and grow up to be spoiled shop cat that melted his heart for many years.
Wayne will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11 am at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence, MO with Delbert Earlywine officiating.
