Vivian Perry Obituary

Mrs. Mary Vivian Moore Perry, of Graham, NC, passed away at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home of Burlington, NC, on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
Mrs. Perry was the widow of the late Garland D. Perry and the daughter of William Arnold and Josie Lee Cook Moore, both deceased. She is survived by one son, Stanley G. Perry, of Myrtle Beach, SC and one grandson, Cody Perry of Raleigh, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Perry was preceded in death by five brothers: J. Lexie Moore, Lee Moore, Jack Moore, Robert A. (Bob) Moore and Walker Moore and five sisters Annie Mae Moore Webster, Beatrice (Bea) Moore Cook, Hazel Moore Hargis, Ollie Ruth Moore Boswell, and Adelle Moore Qualls, along with all their spouses.
Vivian was a retired employee from the former Western Electric Company of Burlington, NC and, along with her husband, Garland, were owners and operators of Perry Hosiery Mill, also of Burlington, NC. She was a longtime member of St. Mark's Church of Burlington, and a faithful member of the Christian Workers Sunday School Class, whom she adored. During her many years at St. Mark's, she served as the head of the Card Ministry, member of Bereavement Team and Adult Choir. She sent many cards, and received so many, which she kept, one and all, in decorative boxes.
In her earlier years, she was an excellent party and wedding caterer and was well known for her beautifully decorated wedding cakes. Within her family, she would challenge any one of them to make a better pound cake than she did. She always made sure she won those challenges.
A graveside service will be held, 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 4, at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington, NC. Rev. Ben Bishop of St. Mark's Church and Rev. Doctor Chris Howe of First Baptist Church of Graham, NC will be officiating. Friends may pay their respects Monday, February 3 from 3:30 – 5:00 PM and Tuesday, February 4 from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at Rich & Thompson Funeral Service in Graham.
