Virginio D. Silva, 66, of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, July 11th, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital. Born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Joao Dacosta and the late Ludovina (DaSilva) Dacosta.
He was a hard working laborer within the landscaping industry. Virginio loved to watch soccer and was an avid Benfica fan.
Virginio is survived by his loving companion, Maria Fatima Moura of New Bedford; his son, Nuno Silva of Portugal; his sisters, Maria Borges of New Bedford, Maria Claudina of New Bedford and his sister Olga Pacheco of Portugal, as well as, many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours for Virginio will be on held Thursday, July 18th from 5-7:30 PM at Boulevard Funeral Home. His funeral mass is on Friday, July 19th at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in New Bedford. Cremation will follow and a burial will be scheduled at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery.
