Travis Dale Whitlock, who went by Dale, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 26, 2024, at his home in Santa Rosa, California. Born on June 12, 1936, in Westbrook, Texas, Dale was raised in Coolidge, Arizona, where his early years were marked by a deep connection to the land and a passion for agriculture.
Dale pursued his interest in agriculture at California Polytechnic University (Cal Poly) Pomona, earning a degree in agricultural sciences. His professional career was distinguished by his work in the agriculture industry, where he specialized in selling movable sprinkler systems and farm equipment.
An active member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Brawley, California, Dale's contributions to the organization were notable. He not only served as an officer but also achieved national recognition by winning the highest award for his presentation of the Elks ritual in a national competition. Outside of his professional life, Dale had a passion for tinkering with dune buggies and enjoyed spending weekends with his family in the sand dunes east of Brawley.
Dale is survived by his four children: Dalene Whitlock (Jerry Jaromin), Cheryl Whitlock-Hoffman, Laura Manges, and Dan Whitlock (Christine Naber). He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and a great-grandfather to nine great-grandchildren.
