It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timothy Lance Carney, who departed this life on November 10, 2024 at the age of 62. He passed peacefully with family and friends by his side. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, dog lover, and friend, known for his loyalty, kindness, and ability to make friends regardless of the situation.

Born on March 9, 1962 in Hudson, New York, Tim was the son of Earle and Elizabeth Carney. He attended Hudson Senior High School and Columbia Greene College and explored a variety of roles and careers before retirement.

Tim was passionate about politics and loved engaging in spirited debates, always advocating for what he believed in. A nomad at heart, Tim enjoyed his final years traveling along the east coast visiting friends and family with his closest companion, Loki.

Tim is survived by his daughter Gabriella Carney (Kevin Matz); granddaughter, Maddalena Carney Matz; mother, Elizabeth Carney; sisters, Terri Engel (Steve Engel) and Tammie Scirico (Mark Scirico); dog, Loki Carney; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Earle Carney.

A celebration of life will be held on December 8th from 2pm to 5pm at 225 Warren Bar & Grill in Hudson, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (pcf.org) in Tim’s memory.

We hold dear the memories of Tim and take comfort in knowing his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.
