Thelma Irene (Yetman) Condon, 91, passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on March 22, 2025 at the Prescott House. Thelma was the beloved wife of the late Edward C. Condon. Beloved mother to Sheila Perez of Chelsea, Michael Condon and his wife Margaret of Methuen, Janet Condon of Reading, MA, Debra Witkum and her husband Scott of Methuen, her late son, Stephen Condon and her ten grandchildren Gina, Christopher, Matthew, Derek, Melissa, Michael, Rachel, Mollie, James & Kevin. Her eleven great grandchildren and 4 Great Great grandchildren, as well as her nieces and nephews. She was born in Chelsea, Ma. but resided in
Methuen, Ma. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Elizabeth Yetman, beloved sister of her late sister's Phyllis, June and Loretta.
Thelma was a baptized Jehovah Witness for many years and attended meetings at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's witnesses in Revere and Methuen. Thelma worked at various jobs, but her greatest joy was being a mother and taking care of her five children. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Thelma had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party. Everyone who knew her, would always say she was so funny. She enjoyed reading, knitting and listening to country music. She was an avid bowler and won many competitions. Her favorite place to be was at the beach with her best friend Alvina and youngest children. Her other favorite past time was shopping, and boy could she shop. Spending every holiday at her daughter Debbie's house along with vacations with her husband and boys were so special. Her proudest moments were the reunions when her and her late husband, would sit back and see all their children and grandchildren together. Thelma gave to many charities such as animals shelters, cancer and Alzheimer's research.
Thelma's daughters, would like to send a special thank you to her homecare providers, her longtime homemaker and care giver Mary along with Michelle and Rosa. They could not have been able to care for their mother at home, as long as they did, without all their help. Debbie and Janet would also like to thank the staff at Prescott House for taking such good care of their mother, especially, Dora, Lisa, Cindy, Heidi, and Monica from C wing and the nurses, the hardworking CNA's on B Wing and a special thank you to her CNA Keira and Ann, the Activity Coordinator. A heartfelt thank you to her Social Worker, Sara Severino, who was always there for their mom and family.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Thelma's life by gathering for her calling hours on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 9 – 11 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her graveside service will immediately follow on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
