Lancaster - Ted Steven Chisholm, aged 73, passed away on March 4, 2025, in Lancaster, CA. Born on December 17, 1951, in Coons Rapids, MN, Ted spent his early years in Sun Valley, CA before living in Santa Clarita, CA, and Boulder City, NV. He settled in Lancaster in 2002 where he embraced a life filled with family, nature, and enjoying many projects on his property.
Ted attended Polytechnic High School and soon after embarked on a distinguished 35-year career in fire protection, where he was a dedicated member of Union 709. His commitment to community service was further exemplified through his active involvement with the Elks, where he served as Exalted Ruler at the Boulder City Elks and was recognized as a life member.
A man of many passions, Ted loved the outdoors, especially fishing at Lake Crowley. He had a profound love for classic cars and NASCAR, often spending hours restoring cars or watching races. His property in Lancaster was his pride and joy, a place where he invested not just his time but his heart, making it a welcoming home for family and friends.
Ted's family was central to his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Chisholm; children, Stephen Higgins (Sylvia), Tara Brown (Stephen), Scott Chisholm (Ashley), Christopher Chisholm (Jamie), and Kara McCoskey; and his cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Amanda, Jacob, Bryanna, Alex, Emily, Jason, and Giuliana. He also leaves behind his sisters, Anita, Diane, Katherine, and Colleen, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don & Bonnie Chisholm.
A celebration of Ted's life will be held at the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge, 17766 Sierra Hwy, Santa Clarita, CA, on April 5, 2025, at 11 am.
Ted's legacy is marked not only by his commitment to his profession and community but also by the enduring love for his family and the joy he found in simple pleasures. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
