Sueann Kesler Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hahn Funeral Home on Feb. 22, 2025.
Sueann Kesler, a life-long resident of South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on the 13th of February 2025, at the age of 66, surrounded by those who deeply cherished her. Born on December 20, 1958, to the late Richard and Sally Kesler, Sueann grew up in a home filled with love and laughter. She shared her childhood with her brother, Greg Kesler, forging lifelong memories.
Sueann dedicated many years of her career to the local courthouse where, as a secretary for an attorney, she became a well-known and respected member of the community. Her presence there was not just professional; Sueann was a kind-hearted soul who greeted everyone with a genuine smile and an open heart.
Those who knew Sueann remember her vibrant spirit and zest for life. Festivals in South Bend would always see her sporting a new t-shirt, a memento that captured the fun and energy of these gatherings. She loved all things celebratory-from the sparkle of fireworks to the joy of birthdays and holidays. Her line dancing shoes reflected her love for rhythm and connection, a regular highlight of her weekends.
Sueann's personal interests brought additional color to her life. She boasted an impressive collection of about 50 pairs of shoes, each a symbol of her unique style and flair. Her culinary skills were more than just a pastime; they were a way for her to gather friends and family around the table, savoring both the food and the company. Sueann's love for cooking was matched by her delight in treating herself to the simple pleasures, like her daily Diet Coke from McDonald's and pampering sessions for her nails.
A grand lover of pets, none was more cherished than Chris Chapman's little dog, Rocky. Chris, a long-time friend and her caring caretaker, along with Chris's children,-who were like her own-were treasured by Sueann. Her niece Emily, along with Brian and Carol Stratton also held a special place in her heart. The joy of her later years was expanded by the laughter and energy of Chris's grandchildren, Ja'Kobe, Kyle, Abby Chapman, and Hendrix Keele.
A visitation for Sueann will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, From 1:00 – 3:00 PM, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. A funeral service in honor of Sueann will immediately follow in the funeral home.
