Stephen W Benoit, 74, of Zephyrhills, FL passed away on August 5, 2024. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late William A Benoit and the late Alice Benoit and caring husband to the late Shirley (Menard) Benoit.
Stephen lived for many years between New Bedford and Fairhaven before moving to Florida. He worked many different jobs, but always made time for family. Family was important to him.
He was a lover of music and had over 15,000 different CDs from various artist, but mostly Elvis Presley. He was a passionate Elvis fan and also loved to spend time traveling.
Stephen and Shirley raised 3 wonderful children and were proud grandparents to 3 and great grandparents as well.
Stephen is survived by his sons, Stephen Benoit-Richards and his husband Raymond of New Bedford, William Dooley and his wife Becky of Fairhaven, his daughter Kathleen Williams and her husband Tim of New Bedford; also grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley who passed away in Jan of 2024 after spending 20 years married; his brothers, Leonard E Benoit and William A Benoit.
In accordance with his wishes, Stephen will be cremated. A Visitation with cremated remains will take place at Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford, the morning of Thursday, August 29th from 10:00 - 11:00 am with an 11:00 am Prayer Service at Boulevard Funeral Home and a Burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.
