Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home - Mount Pleasant on Jan. 30, 2026.
Stefanie Roy Schofield, 58, passed away at her home on January 27, 2026. She was born on July 13, 1967, in
Texarkana, Texas, to Jimmy and Gay Roy.
Stefanie was raised in Mount Pleasant, where she graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1985. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Dallas Baptist University and devoted her professional life to education. Stefanie began her teaching career at Chapel Hill ISD in Mount Pleasant before moving to the Metroplex, where she retired from Keller ISD. In 2023, she returned home to Mount Pleasant and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.
Above all else, Stefanie was proud of her family. She often said her greatest accomplishment was her children and her two grandsons, whom, like her children, she adored beyond measure. She was a loyal and caring friend, an avid reader, and a devoted dog mom to not only her beloved Sadie, but the dogs of traveling friends and family. Stefanie's kindness and love for those around her will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her parents, Jimmy and Gay Roy of Mount Pleasant; her daughter, Katelyn Manning of College Station; her son, Connor (Olivia) Schofield of College Station; her siblings, Jeff (Lil) Roy of Coppell, Stacie (Scooter) Clark of Center, and Tracie (Kevin) Rose of Mount Pleasant; her grandchildren, Paxton and Beckham Manning of College Station; and numerous nieces and nephews and a special aunt, Melanie Joy Gibbs of Spokane, Washington. She is also survived by her dear friends, Mechele Kapsner, Karen Maley Christian, and Brenda Wells, whom she lovingly considered her "sisters by heart."
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Manly and Bessie Moore and Raymond and Norma Roy; Anita Roy; and her uncle, Marlon Moore.
A graveside service will be held at Red Lick Cemetery in Red Lick, Texas, at 12:00 pm on Friday, February 6, 2026. A memorial service will be held at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant at 10 am on Saturday, February 7, 2026, immediately followed by a time of visitation with the family.
