Sherman Wilson Hicks, Jr. of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at his home. He was born on October 3, 1961, in San Bernardino, California, to Sherman Wilson Hicks, Sr. and Catherine Marie (Ventura) Hicks. He was 64 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Marie Hicks, and his mother-in-law, Barbara Born.
Sherman served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a musician and over the years, played in many different bands in the Fort Smith area, and was a member of the VFW on Grand Ave. in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Dianna (Born) Hicks; his father, Sherman Hicks, Sr. and wife Mary of Hackett; three daughters, Carol Nordyke, Mollie Hicks and Laura Hicks; three sisters, Lucy Puniwai, Catherine Gourd and Kathleen Swain; two brothers, Chuck Ventura and Tom Hicks; and three grandchildren, P. J. Krudah, Cadence Nordyke, and Logan Nordyke.
