Shelby's heart was ever expansive, embracing not only her beloved sisters and family but also any animal in need, with a special fondness for dogs. Her friendly demeanor and loving nature ensured she never met a stranger, only friends she hadn't yet made. Shelby's giving spirit and caring soul were the cornerstones of her existence.
A deeply spiritual person, Shelby's faith guided her through life's journey, providing strength and comfort to those around her. Her legacy is one of compassion, generosity, and a life lived with a profound sense of purpose. Throughout her working life, Shelby was employed at Kellogg's, the post office, nursing homes, and the Rex Cafe in Kalamazoo.
Shelby is survived by sisters, Gayanne (Don) Mulder and Denise (Thom) Brockway, nieces and nephews, Aaron Roush, Donny Roush, Valerie Mulder, and Brittany (Tyson Larson) Brockway, great great nieces and nephews Katlyn Burgess, Michael Delong, Mason Gordon, Tyler Baker, Noah Mulder, Hunter McNees, Theo Larson, Miles Brockway-Larson, Dashiell Brockway-Larson, and Hawthorn Brockway-Larson, and good friend, Faelan Aratorn. Shelby was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy Cochran Jr., daughter, Kimberly Cochran, niece and nephew, Angie Mulder and Ethan Brockway, and good friend, Nicole Comstock.
Shelby's memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Kalamazoo Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1601 Nichols Road, Kalamazoo. The service will also be live streamed at https://kzoosda.org/.

Shelby used to babysit me, back in the early 60's. She was always kind and loving as I remember. Her Dad's farm was less than a mile from our farm in Hickory Corners. R.I.P. Carl Walters
