Sandra Louise Barnes Boyd, a devoted wife, cherished mother, and beloved nana, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, with her loving family by her side.
Sandra was born on June 16, 1951, in Madison County to the late Homer W. Barnes and the late Helen Kate Revis Barnes. She had made her home in Leicester and we give thanks for the 73 years of her wonderful life.
A nurturer by nature, Sandra devoted her life to taking care of her family, loving each of them unconditionally. Her kind and loving spirit was a blessing to everyone who knew her and those she held dear. Sandra found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid treasure hunter at Goodwill, always finding beauty in overlooked things and she also found great joy in working among her beautiful flowers, that surrounded the Boyd home. Sandra cherished family time spent at Lake Douglas and the happy times of staying in Pigeon Forge with all of her loved ones, are memories never to be forgotten. More than anything, Sandra was a beacon of love, hope, and faith. She was always a true inspiration to her family and anyone blessed to know her precious soul.
In the words of her family, "Sandra is now walking on the streets of gold in her new body, free of pain and sorrow." We love you, Nana! You will forever be in our hearts.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Junior, Everette, and Howard Barnes; her sisters, Barbara Bishop, Shirley Surrett, Mary Ogle, and Nina Barnes and a very special dog, Miracle.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, the love of her life for 48 years, Gerald Boyd; her children, Teresa Decker (Ricky) of Hot Springs, Steven Boyd (Stephanie) of Leicester and Kelly Stewart (Daniel) of Leicester with whom she resided with along with her special pet, Bella Kate that she adored; grandchildren, Nick Decker (Mallory), Zack Decker (Brianna), Tyler Boyd (Meadow), DJ (Cheyenne) and Kayla Stewart, who lovingly took care of her grandmother during her illness; her siblings, Kathy Ollis (Randy), Betty Holt (Jimmy), Charles Barnes (Janice) and Willard Barnes; Walker Colt Decker, a very special great-grandson that she loved dearly; her best friend of 40 years, Billie Clark and also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
