Sally Langlois Obituary

Sally Langlois passed away at her home in Eastham on Friday, January 23, 2026, surrounded by family, after a long illness.
Sally Parker Langlois (Wemette) was born on April 2, 1943 in Westfield, Massachusetts. Her formative years in Westfield were spent with her father at his butcher's shop, Wemette's Market, which inspired her love of preparing and enjoying good food. This led the way to a fulfilling career in school lunch programs, first as a kitchen manager at Williams Middle School in Longmeadow, MA, then to Nauset Regional High School in Eastham, MA. She loved children and watching them grow up, and spent her semi-retirement as a school monitor, also at Nauset High.
Sally had 10 green thumbs and her gardening skills and talents were the envy of all the neighborhood. She also loved to read and crotchet, and leaves behind many a beautiful scarf or afghan, left in the care of family and friends. She was an avid hockey mom to her two boys, and was known for her unique and aggressive whistle - which may have inadvertently stopped a hockey game or two! But almost nothing, not even a perfectly mowed lawn or a spotless kitchen, relaxed her or made her happier than the water. Sally was known to float for hours in the ocean, and her keen eye for details allowed her to amass a staggering collection of beach glass, gathered mainly on the shores of Cape Cod, where she and her husband and sons resided in their later years. After retirement, she and her husband loved to spend their winter months in the sunshine of Green Valley, AZ. During this time they made many new friends, most especially a group of Canadian snowbirds, and they made many a lasting memory playing golf, shuffleboard, dining out, traveling, and just enjoying each other's company.
Sally is survived by her husband of 59 years Denis Langlois; her sons Dean Langlois o Eastham, Derek Langlois (Becky Alexander) of Wellfleet; and her sister Donna (Terry Chase) of East Windsor CT; plus all the offshoots and the many branches of the Langlois + Chase family trees.
A Celebration of Life for Sally will be held at Van Rensselaer's Restaurant in South Wellfleet on Saturday February 14th, from 12-3 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that any donations be made to the VNA of Cape Cod.
