Ruth Killian Obituary

Ruth Ann Killian, 90, of Lafayette, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
She was born on July 20, 1934 in Riverside, IN to the late James C. and Edith (Pugh) Lyman. Ruth graduated from Dayton High School in 1952.
On February 14, 1953, she married James Lee Killian at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1999.
Ruth was a homemaker and also worked for Tippecanoe Villa and Fisher's Chicken Farm over the years.
She was a parishioner of St. Boniface Catholic Church and St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Ruth was also a member of Clowns Unlimited. She loved sewing, knitting, reading mysteries, and taking care of her 10 children.
Surviving are her children, Anna Killian-Cornell of Linden, Joe (Renate) Killian of Colburn, Madonna Killian of Lafayette, Liz Halcarz of Oxford, James Killian of Lafayette, John Killian of West Lafayette, Pat (Blair) Jaynes of Buck Creek, Nancy Killian of Linden, Robert (Donna) Killian of Fairland, and Art (Susan) Killian of Crawfordsville. Also surviving are her sister, Rosie Tittle of Indianapolis; her sister-in-law, Kay Lyman of Dayton; her 24 grandchildren; and multiple great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, LeRoy Lyman, Mary O'Neil, Jim Lyman, and Joe Lyman; son-in-law, David Cornell; and grandson, Dakota.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel with a Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 11 a.m. with burial following in St. Boniface Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Lung Cancer Association in loving memory of Ruth.
