Roberta Jean Hohl, age 87 of Osceola, Indiana, passed away on March 17, 2025. Jean was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, August 28, 1937 to Robert and Ella (Kronewitter) Swift. Jean was a Madison High School graduate. She married her high school sweetheart, Ralph Hohl, on November 26, 1955.
Jean was a valued bookkeeper in her work at Henderson & Crull and Woody's Machine. Her crafting skills included sewing, crocheting, and ceramics. It was important to her to create special hand-made gifts for her family, including raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, and crocheted blankets and dresses. She enjoyed her flower beds each summer. Each season and holiday would find Jean changing the many decorations throughout her home to match the event. Jean was skilled in cake decorations and was known for her home-made pies. Grandchildren were taught how to make chicken and noodles from scratch. These same grandchildren brought her much joy.
A loving mother, devoted wife, and cherished sister, Jean is survived by her husband Ralph, children Amy (Randolph) Thomas and RJ (Carla) Hohl, and her grandchildren Jarod, Alex, Sydney, and Henry. Also surviving are her sisters Alice Price, Barbara (Gerald) Wood, and Marilyn (Dale) Donahue. Many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends added to the blessing of a large extended family. In heaven, she will be reunited with the family and friends who went ahead of her.
Visitation will be held at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola from 10am-12 pm on Friday, March 21, 2025, with funeral services to follow at noon. Following services, Jean will be laid to rest in Olive Cemetery East.
