Robert Smith Obituary

On Thursday, May 23, 2024, Robert Don Smith (Rob), beloved son, brother and uncle, passed away at age 46 at Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. He was currently residing in Jarrell, Texas.
Robert Don Smith was born September 21, 1977, to Jana Mauldin Smith and Randall Earl Smith in San Angelo, Texas. He attended Robert Lee ISD graduating in 1996. He attended Howard College and Angelo State University. He lacked 12 hours receiving his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Rob worked in the pesticide industry as a certified applicator (CA) for about 20 years at various companies and owned and operated Cimix Pest Solutions in San Angelo, Texas for 2 years. He was currently working for the Department of Agriculture in Austin, Texas as a SPCS Program Specialist.
He was an avid sports enthusiast and animal lover. Rob will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Melba and Donald (Moe) Mauldin and his paternal grandparents Kathryn and Morris (Pete) Smith.

Serving as pallbearers will be; Daniel Hayes, Jeremy Burns, Casey Antilley, Major Smith, Colin Beal, and Brandon Lammers.
Visitation will be at Shaffer Funeral Home in Robert Lee, Texas, on Tuesday evening, May 28, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside Services will be at Robert Lee Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon, May 29, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. officiated by William "Pistol" Hood.
