Robert Bailey Obituary

Robert Jamael "Otez" Bailey was born March 21, 1976 to the late Charles and Jerlena Davis Bailey at Beth Israel Hospital, Newark NJ. Jamael was the sixth of ten children. Jamael transitioned from this world March 10th, 2025 surrounded by his family and the loving voices of his siblings abroad. Jamael was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Jamael spent the most amazing years of his life and transition with his soulmate Leisa Byant Bailey. The two enjoyed traveling, laughing and family time with their children and grandchildren. Leisa and Jamael were a sure match made power couple.
Jamael attended East Orange High School and later moved his ambition and desire in attending vocational school where he began to learn an abundance of different trades and crafts that he would use in his coming of adulthood and employment endeavors. He was known for his loving and warm heart, phenomenal humor and his dedication to his soulmate, children and grandchildren to whom he will always be known as (Pappi).
In the midst of doing that, Jamael had many jobs in the security field. He later, landed his dream job at Top-tier Security for the past 15 years before retiring.
Jamael Bailey is survived by his grandfather Prince McDougle of St. Augustine, FL, his soulmate Leisa Bryant Bailey, his children, grandchildren, and siblings: Everett Bailey of El Cajon, CA, Richard Bailey of Newark, NJ, Robyn Bailey (Madee) of North Carolina, Derece Bailey (Chauncey Maile) of Waipau, HI, Nakia McDougle (Katherine) of Fort Stewart, GA, Chanel Bailey of Columbus, GA and Phillip Bailey (Ecatherina) of California, along with sons and daughters Tasheema U. Brown (Wasim) of Newark, NJ, Dashawn A. Troupe of Newark, NJ, Alquan T. Troupe ( Maliesha) of Perth Amboy, NJ, Amber Kitchen (Tevin) of Old Bridge, NJ, and Zaire Kitchen (Ariel ) of Washington DC, and host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Jerlena Davis Bailey, and his two brothers Ishmael Bailey and Donald Bailey.
