Rita M. (Pero) Lore, of Florida and Massachusetts, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2025, at the age of 100, surrounded by family who adored her. Born on March 7, 1924, in Somerville, MA, Rita's life was a tapestry woven with the threads of family, hard work, and an unwavering spirit of generosity.
Rita, the daughter of the late W. Paul and Camille (Rosso) Pero, grew up in a lively household with her siblings. She was the devoted sister of Teresa Pero and the late Robert Pero, Margaret Siteman, Evelyn Toner, Louise Burke, Doris Thompson, and Leo Pero. Rita's heart found love in her late husbands, the late William Murphy and the late Joseph Lore. Her role as a loving mother was one she held dear, and was the beloved mother of daughter June Janovsky and her late husband Robert, and daughter Janet Black.
Rita's life was a testament to the joy found in simple pleasures. She treasured the moments spent with her family and friends, knowing that the richest memories are those made together. Rita's loving nature extended to her role as a cherished GG, a title she wore with pride and joy. Her grandchildren, Dawn Janovsky and her husband Doug Coombs, Robin Janovsky, Glenn Janovsky and his wife Sarah, Jill Janovsky, Kim Black, and Jeff Black and his wife Laura, and her great-grandchildren, Robbie, Trevor, Ruby, Pauline, Julia, Jason, Jessica, Benjamin, Josuha, and Jake, each held a special place in her heart.
In her early years, Rita made her mark in the world as a skilled seamstress. Her years of dedication to her craft not only provided for her family but also left a legacy of beautiful workmanship that was appreciated by all who benefited from her talents. Rita went on to become a successful real estate investor.
Those who knew Rita would describe her as the epitome of love and kindness. Her presence was a comfort and her heartfelt laughter brought joy to all. Rita's spirit was a guiding light for her family, a constant reminder of the power of love and the strength found in kindness.
As we bid farewell to Rita, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the century of memories she gifted us. Her legacy of love, kindness, and gentle strength will continue to inspire and guide us. Rita's journey through life was marked by the love she gave and the love she received, a beautiful cycle that will continue to resonate through the generations.
We honor the memory of Rita, a woman whose life was a living example of how to love unconditionally and live gracefully. Her story does not end with her passing but continues in the lives of those she touched. Rita M. Lore will be profoundly missed, but the love she shared will forever be cherished.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a attend a visitation period on Friday, March 7th, from 9:00 – 10:30 AM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Burial will be private.
