Abbeville-Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Regina Shelvin Gabriel, 66, who passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Elder Calvin Broussard officiating the services. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Felton J. Wiltz, Bretlan J. Shelvin, Felix Freddie, Aross Brown, Robert Edwards and Josh Traxler. Honorary pallbearer will be Pernell Towles. She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Mausoleum at a later date.
Regina loved to cook and feed the neighborhood. She relished time sitting on her porch while visiting with family and friends. Regina loved to travel. She cherished her friendship with Mayor Roslyn White and Police chief Mike Hardy. Her true passion was watching old western movies.
Regina is survived by her sons, Felton J. Wiltz and Bretlan J. Shelvin; stepdaughter, Brandi Francis; brothers, Angelo Shelvin and Russell Collins (Elizabeth); sister, Jennie Shelvin; grandchildren, Trevon Willis, Tayla Willis, Jasiah Shelvin, and Drew Shelvin; and great granddaughter, Sage Willis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Collins and the former Marjorie Moss; sisters, Katherine Shelvin and Jocelyn Shelvin; brother, Lawrence Shelvin; and niece, Kim Shelvin.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 9:30 AM until time of services.
