Philip Dean Wood, age 77, of Sandwich, IL passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2024 at the Pavilion on Main in Sandwich, IL. He was born on May 1, 1946 in LaSalle, IL the son of Albert and Edna (Amsler) Wood.
Philip was united in marriage on December 7, 1968 to Miss Barbara Kratz and they spent the next 55 years happily together. Mr. Wood was a proud Veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. He was formerly employed, for many years as a lineman with ComEd and worked for the past 18 years at the Stewart Spirit Farms in Sheridan, IL. Philip was a loving son, husband, brother and uncle who will be missed by his family and friends.
Philip is survived by his wife, Barbara Wood of Sandwich, IL; as well as his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Edna Wood; his two brothers and his two sisters.
Funeral Services will be private.

Deepest sympathy to Barb and all of Phil´s family. Such a loss, he will be remembered in thoughts and prayers. He was a great guy.

Used to walk to high school with Phil back in the 60´s. Lost track of each other over the years but remember him as one of the good guys, also a good athlete. Sad to learn of his passing. The class of `64 is getting smaller.

Playing baseball, basketball and football as kids in Mendota. In high school we played football and track. He was a very good friend and caring person.
