Peggy Jo Lenkner, 79, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Hilltop Manor. She was born on September 9, 1946 in Wichita to Cloyd and Laura (Foster) Kettering. Peggy married Walter Robert Lenkner on August 16, 1980 in Medicine Lodge. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2015.

Peggy graduated from Redondo Beach High School in California. She went on to attend Pepperdine College in Malibu and Pratt Community College in Pratt. She was a member of Church of Christ and Epsilon Sigma Alpha. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, traveling and spending time with grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Michael) Fox of Winfield and Dana (Bryan) Whitfield of Pratt; stepson, Robert (Lois) Lenkner of Medicine Lodge; stepdaughter, Carol (Glen) McGeary of Carlsbad, California; grandchildren, Steven (Christina) Fox of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Robbie (Lindsey) Fox of Paragould, Arkansas, Laura Elliott of Winfield, Matthew (Ryann) Fox of Douglass, Peyton (Brittian) Young of Wichita and Brydan Whitfield of Derby; step-grandchildren, Will (Courtney) Lenkner of Medicine Lodge, Megan McGeary of California and Kaitlyn McGeary of Carlsbad, California; and great-grandchildren, Anna Fox, Ethan Fox, Sadie Fox, Oren Fox, Ledger Young and Paityn Lenkner.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Lenkner; infant son, Stephen Best; brother, Fred Kettering; grandson in-law, Scott Elliott; and granddaughter, Malea Whitfield.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2026 at Church of Christ, Pratt with minister Steve Triplett and John Hamm presiding. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.

Memorials may be made to Heartspring or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
