Paul A Germain, 81, formerly of Worcester, passed away in his home on in Largo Florida on October 18, 2024, after a short battle with cancer with his loving wife, Nancy, by his side. He was born in Worcester to the late Lawrence and Mary Germain. In 1960, he joined the Marine Corp and was honorably discharged in 1964. He worked in retail advertising for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for 35 years. In 1977, he married the love of his life, Nancy (Lyonnais) and they recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.

Paul loved sports cars, West Coast jazz, bird watching and was a voracious reader. He was very active throughout his life and enjoyed skiing, and competitive tennis but golf was his passion. He made two hole-in-ones while a member of Sterling CC and one at Holden Hills CC. He especially enjoyed the many golf trips to Myrtle Beach with his friends as well as golf vacations with Nancy. In 2010, Paul and Nancy became snow birds and 4 years later moved permanently to Largo, where he played golf with his friends from Nova Scotia as well as Nancy several days a week. When he was no longer able to play the sport, he spent time critiquing the golfers from his living room overlooking the 17 tee of Bardmoor CC. With Nancy by his side, Paul enjoyed the many beaches and parks close to their home and getting together with friends for a game night. When out to dinner, he was known to enjoy a well made martini.

Paul is survived by his sons Paul M and Todd Germain, and daughter Beth Permelia, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Elaine Hewey and a step brother, David Germain. In addition, to his wife, he will be missed by several sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews especially Michael, Jaime, Melissa and Jillian who will always remember their “Uncle Paul” and the close bond they shared growing up.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by his brothers Norman and Lawrence Germain and his sister Madeleine Evarts.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 9:30-11:30, in the Mack Funeral Home, 105 Central St, Gardner, MA with a brief service followed by burial at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St, Winchendon, M.

There will be a celebration of life in Florida at a later date.
